Since 2015, flying help e.V. is working on Kos.

Because of the renewed attention to refugees and the humanitarian crisis around them, we are noticing more and more that the EU is not taking responsibility. The european public is starting to resent Greece. Flying help e.V. is now distancing itself from this movement.

Ministries in Athens, administrations in the hotspots on Kos, the police - everybody are doing their best to support the people on the islands. Our problems didn't occur because auf incompetence or unwilligness of the authorities in Greece, but because of the amounts of people that are arriving in very short times. There is no sufficient support from other EU countries.

Mainly, the Greek public should not be punished. Flying help e.V. is recomending to everybody thinking about it: Do spend your vacation there. The touristic areas are not affected by the situation concerning refugees. People on site are counting on their tourist-based income and should not be deserted like this any more.
